New Delhi : With India’s capital city Delhi embarking on an ambitious odd-even numbered scheme for private vehicles to control the rising pollution levels, Radio City 91.1 FM is providing a free cab service to its listeners when they would not be commuting by their own vehicle.
Through its initiative ‘Odd ya Even, Gaadi Dega Radio City 91.1’, listeners can now breathe easy as branded Radio City cabs will be available with an exclusive ‘Pick & Drop’ starting January 4.
Delhi, which has been witnessing alarming levels of air pollution, has rationed the use of private vehicles in the city for 15 days starting 1st January.
Vehicles whose registration numbers end with odd and even digits will be allowed on the toads on odd and even dates respectively.
Listeners can register themselves with the station by sending an SMS and Radio City branded cabs will accompany them throughout the day.
Talking about the initiative, Satyanarayana Murthy, EVP Marketing, Radio City 91.1 FM said: “Delhi needs drastic steps to avoid the impending catastrophe due to the rise of pollution. Radio City has backed the ‘Odd ya Even’ formula by making life a bit easier & entertaining for the listeners. Listeners can overcome the inconvenience of not being able to commute in their vehicles by spotting the Radio City branded cabs at key junctions of the city & availing the benefit of a free ride through a simple registration process. Through this initiative, Radio City is not just offering listeners convenience, but is also facilitating them to car pool and encouraging them to contribute their bit to ease pollution ridden Delhi.”
