D Sriram has joined mobile marketing service provider Vpon as chief operating officer.
Based in Taiwan, the former Aegis, Starcom and IMD executive joins with a brief to accelerate Vpon’s entry into new markets in the region, where it already has subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Taipei, Shanghai and Tokyo.
D Sriram was most recently a management consultant focused on marketing startups. He has spent 18 years in advertising and media agencies in India, China and the Asia Pacific Region. Sriram was APAC CEO for Starcom Mediavest Group and China CEO for Aegis Media Group.
For the past couple of years he has been a consultant and entrepreneur advising professional service companies on market entry to China. And in the process, one of those companies asked him to step up and lead their China operations and that is how, he became the China CEO of IMD.
Sriram said: “Vpon’s core target of cross-border tourism and E-commerce and O2O are fantastic opportunities to demonstrate the power of data driven marketing.”
Vpon CEO Victor Wu reiterated that big data technologies are at the center of the company’s business development.

Sriram has lived and worked in India, China, Hong Kong and Singapore and is extremely knowledgeable and connected to the industry across all of the region. Besides work he enjoys an active lifestyle, absolutely loves music and occasionally performs in Shanghai bars.
