Chennai : The prestigious Annual Vijay Awards is back again this time the 9th edition of the even for films released during the year 2014 comes with grandeur than its last eight years; an event to recognize the excellence of Talents and Professionals in the Tamil film industry.
The inauguration of 9th Annual Vijay Awards was held in Chennai Spencer plaza on 27th March 2015. This was inaugurated by the proud juries of the year comprising Director K. Bhagyaraj, Yugi Sethu, Director & Cinematographer K.V. Anand and Actress Nadhiya. Apart from them many celebrities from Tamil film fraternity such as Directors mysskin, S.J. Surya, Karthik Subhuraj, A.L. Vijay, Mano bala and Actors like Bobby Simha, Arun Vijay, Parthiban and many others took part in this gracious occasion.
The jury members for the 9th annual vijay awards comprises of the popular writer/director/producer K. Bhagyaraj, Yugi Sethu, K.V. Anand, Actress Nadhiya and Bollywood Director and Ad man Balki.
The Countdown has already began, as the Channel has confirmed that the biggest star-studded event of the year will be held on 25th April 2015 at the Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai from 7pm onwards.
Vijay Awards is considered as Vijay TV’s biggest event attraction that enters the ninth year. The award ceremony is being conducted from the year 2006. Vijay awards over a period of time become very popular among the audience and film stars alike. The event witnesses an array of celebrities, top class talent and technicians from the film fraternity all over India.
The winners are chosen by a jury of film-makers, technicians and critics. Some of the categories are open to public voting online. In recent years, the Chevalier Shivaji Ganesan award has been instituted to honour life time achievements in the field. Director Shankar was the recipient of Chevalier Shivaji Ganesan award in the previous year.
Last year, Bollywood Super Star Shah Rukh Khan graced the occasion with his over whelming charm and enthralled the audience with his liveliness and active participation.
